Travel Health Services

Our pharmacies in Aberfeldy, Aboyne, Ballater, Banchory, Blairgowrie, Broughty Ferry (McPhersons), and Friockheim offer private travel services, where we charge a £25 consultation fee prior to the consultation. This fee is then offset against the cost of any vaccinations or antimalarial medication you require when the total value exceeds £100.

Preparation Guide: Steps for a Safe Trip

  • When traveling abroad, especially to higher-risk destinations, vaccinations or additional protections may be required.
  • Start planning 8-12 weeks in advance, as some vaccines require multiple doses.
  • Visit the Fit for Travel website for initial guidance.
  • If you may need vaccinations or antimalarials, complete our Travel Health Questionnaire.
  • You’ll need to provide details such as your destination, length of stay, activities, and general health.
  • Additionally, obtain your vaccination history from your GP to ensure your immunisations are up to date before completing the questionnaire.

The Vaccination Process

  • Our pharmacist will review your health questionnaire and conduct a travel risk assessment.
  • They will contact you to arrange an initial consultation, either in person, virtually, or by phone.
  • During this consultation, they will advise on the vaccinations and antimalarials you may need and schedule any follow-up appointments for vaccines requiring multiple doses.
  • You will visit the pharmacy for vaccinations or to collect antimalarials.
  • All administered vaccines will be recorded and shared with your GP.
