Pharmacist Manager (Independent Prescriber) – Blairgowire

Role: Pharmacist
Location: Blairgowrie
Type: Full Time
Contract: Permanent

Lead the Pharmacy Where the Davidsons Story Began

In 1897, Walter Davidson opened a single pharmacy in Blairgowrie with a simple vision: to provide outstanding care, trusted advice and exceptional service to the local community. More than 125 years later, that same commitment remains at the heart of Davidsons Chemists, which has grown into Scotland’s largest independent pharmacy group.

Today, Blairgowrie is not only our original pharmacy but also the home of our Head Office team.

We’re looking for an ambitious Independent Prescribing Pharmacist to lead this flagship pharmacy into its next chapter.

This is far more than a traditional Pharmacy Manager position. It’s an opportunity to build on a remarkable heritage while helping shape the future of community pharmacy. You’ll have the autonomy to develop services, the support to grow your prescribing practice, and the ability to make a genuine difference to both patients and colleagues.

Why This Role Is Different

At Davidsons, we believe pharmacists should be empowered to practise at the top of their licence.

As an Independent Prescriber, you’ll be encouraged to expand your clinical practice, develop innovative patient-focused services and build strong partnerships with local healthcare teams. You’ll have the freedom to bring ideas to life and the support of a business that is committed to the future of pharmacy.

Whether you’re already leading a pharmacy or ready to step into your first management role, we’ll provide the support and development you need to succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading, inspiring and developing an experienced pharmacy team.
  • Delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care and clinical services.
  • Expanding and delivering Independent Prescribing services that improve patient outcomes.
  • Building strong relationships with GP practices, healthcare professionals and the wider community.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow services and meet local healthcare needs.
  • Coaching and developing colleagues to help them reach their full potential.
  • Creating a positive, supportive and high-performing pharmacy culture.
  • With potential to shape the future direction of clinical services across Davidsons Chemists.

About You

You’ll be:

  • GPhC registered.
  • A qualified Independent Prescriber.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Motivated by service development and clinical innovation.
  • A natural people leader who enjoys supporting and developing others.
  • An Educational Supervisor and Designated Prescribing Practitioner, or interested in developing these skills.
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional growth.

What You’ll Get

  • A Pharmacy You Can Make Your Own
  • Lead the branch where the Davidsons story began and play a key role in its future success.
  • Dedicated Support for Your Prescribing Practice
  • We actively support Independent Prescribers through service development opportunities, clinical mentoring, prescribing-focused professional development and the chance to build and expand your own areas of clinical interest.
  • Investment in Your Career
  • Access to leadership development, management training and ongoing professional learning to help you achieve your ambitions.
  • A Supportive Team Around You
  • Join a business where senior leaders are accessible, colleagues are collaborative and professional development is genuinely valued.
  • Competitive Salary and Benefits
  • A rewarding package that recognises the impact you’ll make on patients, colleagues and the wider business.

Join the Pharmacy Where It All Began

This is your opportunity to lead a pharmacy with a proud heritage while helping define its future.

If you’re an ambitious Independent Prescribing Pharmacist looking for a role with purpose, autonomy and genuine opportunities to grow, we’d love to hear from you.
