The advantage of having this service administered by a prescribing pharmacist lies in their ability to apply their prescribing skills to assess, diagnose, and manage various ear conditions. They can prescribe necessary medications, such as antibiotics for ear infections or anti-inflammatory drugs for inflammation. They can discern when a referral to another healthcare professional, such as an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist, is necessary. When conducted by our prescribers, the initial check is provided at no charge, as it is an integral part of the NHS Pharmacy First Plus service. Supported by the TympaHealth system, they can offer an enhanced service to address your ear-related symptoms.
Earwax Removal Service
Approximately 4% of the UK population requires earwax management each year. Our Ear Care service offers a fast and painless earwax removal procedure. Using our service enhances accessibility, eliminating the need for GP and hospital appointments and reducing strain on NHS resources. The cost is £50 for both ears and £35 for a single ear.

To begin, you’ll need to schedule a free Ear Health Check, a brief examination conducted by one of our prescribing pharmacists. This check involves the capture of high-definition images and videos, enabling the identification of potential issues such as blockages, infections, or excessive wax build-up. The findings from this assessment will guide the determination of an appropriate treatment.
In many instances, the primary concern is often excessive wax. If so, you’ll be advised to schedule a subsequent appointment for Ear Wax Removal, a chargeable service (see above). We can also offer a hearing assessment at only £5.
